Visitor’s visa requirements vary according to where delegates are from and what documents they are travelling with. Find out on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website which requirement is applied to you, how to submit a visa application, and which documentation is required.
We invite you to consult the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website regularly for information updates on the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), which is a new requirement for travellers who were previously able to travel to Canada without prior authorization.
Visa Application Centres (VACs)
VACs are commercial service providers authorized by Canada to provide specific services to applicants. VACs provide a number of services including help applicants fill out forms, answer questions and ensure that applications are complete, thereby reducing unnecessary delays or refusals due to incomplete applications. Applicants that are required to provide biometrics as part of the visa application process can do so at a VAC. VACs send applications to Visa Offices and transmit decisions to applicants in a secure and confidential manner. VACs do not process visa applications and play no role in the decision-making process.
Visa Application Processing Times
Delegates are encouraged to submit their visa applications well in advance of the date of the event at a Visa Application Centre (VAC) or on-line (determine if applicable). Processing times vary by location. Please visit the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website for information on the time it takes to process visa applications at the various visa offices.
Letter of Invitation
Letters of invitation can be requested ONLY after registration. Each individual must complete a form in order to obtain a invitation letter. While invitation letters can be sent by courier (e.g., FedEx, DHL, UPS, Purolator, etc.), the courier fees will be charged to you. It is the sole responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa in time. Avoid stress and additional costs by applying early!
